I'm Natalie, and this is Knixx, the heart behind Heart of Knixx.
My love for dogs goes far beyond the trail. I spent more than five years helping run a dog boarding facility, where I gained extensive hands-on experience in dog behavior, pack dynamics, socialization, training, and understanding the individual needs of dogs with all different personalities and backgrounds.
Knixx and I have also spent countless miles exploring trails together. Through those adventures, my professional experience, and everything dogs have taught me along the way, I've developed an even deeper understanding of what they truly need to thrive.
This brand grew from that experience and from the bond I share with Knixx.
Heart of Knixx was created to give dogs the opportunity to explore, build confidence, learn, socialize, and simply be dogs, while their people can feel confident knowing they're in experienced and caring hands.

I've loved dogs for as long as I can remember.
I grew up in a family where there was always a dog in the house, and some of my favorite childhood memories were spent outdoors exploring nature. Even as a little girl, I had a dream of one day having a big farm where every stray dog would have a place to run, play, and be loved.
Children have wild imaginations...
Then you grow up. Life gets busy, and somewhere along the way, those childhood dreams get tucked away.
Mine did, until Knixx came into my life.
I got Knixx at the height of COVID. I was living alone, going through a bad break up, working from home, and feeling disconnected from the world. My solution? GET A DOG.
I saw a photo of a six month old puppy on Facebook Marketplace and knew she was coming home with me.
I was told she was a pitbull. A DNA test later revealed she was a Dutch Shepherd and Husky mix... In other words, a lightning bolt on four legs that looks a little like a hyena.
Knixx had two speeds: fast and faster. Keeping up with her meant early morning hikes, long evening walks, and weekends spent finding new trails. In trying to give her the life she needed, I rediscovered a part of myself I had forgotten.
Knixx and I became inseparable, exploring trails throughout California and discovering just how much adventure can strengthen the bond between a dog and their person. Knixx has saved me in more ways than I can explain.
Together, we discovered that some of life's greatest moments can happen on a trail. I realized I wanted to help others experience that same joy.
The deep bond between dog and human, the peace of the trail, and the satisfaction of seeing a happy, fulfilled pup.
Eventually, that little girl who dreamed of helping dogs didn't feel so far away anymore.Knixx helped me find my inner child. The one who wanted to have all the dogs on that farm. Our brand was born from that childhood dream.
Every hike, every dog I meet, and every family I work with brings me one step closer to the day that dream becomes a reality.
